Sweet & Sour Kielbasa

Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 large onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apricot preserves
  • 1/4 cup diced pineapple (optional )
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound Old Neighborhood Kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup Diced Red, Green and Yellow Pepper ( seeds Removed )
Instructions:
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and oil.
  2. Sauté peppers and onions until tender.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, apricot preserves, ketchup, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and pepper sauce.
  4. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in pineapple .
  6. Slice Kielbasa into 1 inch thick pieces and place sausage in a slow cooker.
  7. Pour sauce mixture in and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
  8. Serve hot , with crusty bread or over rice.
